Independent power producer AMPIN Energy Transition has secured funding of up to $35 million from responsAbility, an investor focusing on private markets, to help AMPIN expand its clean energy projects across India.
ResponsAbility Investments AG has agreed to invest up to USD 35 million (EUR 32.7m) in Ampin Energy Transition Private Limited to help the India-based renewable energy platform advance its development pipeline at home.
Mumbai, May 7 (KNN) AMPIN Energy Transition, formerly known as Amp Energy India, has secured USD 35 million in funding from ResponsAbility Investments AG, a Swiss impact asset manager.
AMPIN Energy Transition has secured investment from responsAbility, a prominent impact asset manager focusing on private market investments based in Switzerland. As part of responsAbility’s larger climate investment strategy of $500 million to actively decrease CO2 emissions in Asia, it will allocate up to $35 million on behalf of its investors to AMPIN.
responsAbility has plans to increase its operating capacity to 10 GWp by 2030 and contribute to India’s renewable energy goal of 500 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy installed capacity.
The funds will enable AMPIN to undertake a range of projects under its various SPVs, primarily in commercial and industrial (C&I) solar across a wide spectrum of sectors in India
